NS turning the facts around

NS refusal to sponsor the project in the Netherlands was taken for granted, but at the time the train had already arrived in the Netherlands the shows had to go on. Although the Austrian Railways promised to send their carriage to the Netherlands the NS managed to stop them doing so by spreading the roumor that non of our plans will come through.

We made an appointment with LOVERS RAILS (a concurrent of NS) and asked them to help. They liked the project very much and started in the running of September 1998 to investigate the possibilities. After a month they found out that their locomotives were not allowed by the Ministry of Transport to pull the europartrain. With the help of this Ministry we found Strukton Railinfra prepared to do the job. Successful shows were happening in Hoorn, Amsterdam and Delfzijl, between October and December 1998.

In January 1999 coming back from a promotional journey through Belgium, Luxembourg, the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany we found a fax from the Yugoslav Railway Company (JZ) announcing their withdrawal of their wagon from the project. One of the reasons given was the request of NS to do so.

Which requests from NS?

JZ sent the faxes they received from NS to us. We discovered that NS started already in September 1998 sending faxes to all collaborating Railways; Greek (CH), Yugoslav (JZ), Danish (DSB), Hungarian (MAV). Asking NS about their reason for sending these faxes they replied that they got questions and answered to them. After investigations we discovered, that these questions followed only after the first fax of NS to our collaborators.

Contrary to this the JZ send us on 11.11.98 a fax stating that we can keep their wagon!

Thus, NS proved themselves turning the facts around.
