The europartrain, an international contemporary art project by the artist Hans Kalliwoda and executed by the Blindpainters Foundation in Amsterdam. The europartrain traveled through Europe, dynamically collecting railway carriages from every country to initiate and stimulate the interaction and cooperation between the different European cultures. In every city where the europartrain stopped festivals, manifestations and exhibitions have been organised. Artists from all over Europe were invited to come to the europartrain and create art works that are representative of the present European cultural climate.
The journey of the europartrain started in 1997 in Thessaloniki, Greece, then the Cultural Capital of Europe. In the fall of 2000 the train was the focus of a large-scale festival in Cracow, Poland, one of the European Cultural Capitals. Events and exhibitions centering around the europartrain on railway stations with all the activities and happenings was possible to be followed through this europartrain web pages.
